Indie Books began as a quarterly publication distributed to retailers, shops, libraries and schools in New Zealand by hard copy and email.

The printed A5 catalogue featured editorial, selected short author bios and a range of display advertisements.  Due to rising costs in production and distribution of a printed product, the decision was made to move completely online in 2025.
