B. G. Rogers is a writer running (and swimming) wild in Tāhuna Queenstown. Primarily an author of short stories and poetry, her work has been published internationally and occasionally listed for prizes.
In 2011, she was a finalist for the Manchester Fiction Prize and in 2024, she was shortlisted for the National Flash Fiction Day prize and won the Otago Regional Prize. In 2021, Rogers was selected for the NZSA Mentor Programme and her debut short story collection, Kaleidoscopes in the Dark, was the result.
With a background in studying literature, children’s literature and fairytales, her prose work often takes a long walk down the dark fiction alley. Meanwhile, her poetry is inspired by the spoken word tradition and is playful and rhythmic.
When not crafting stories and poems, Rogers pursues ultra running and open water swimming, and proudly represented New Zealand at the 2025 World Ice Swimming Championships in Italy.
