Life Size Bites is a collection of short stories and flash fiction looking at a wide range of subjects. The first two stories in the collection, comprise the winning entries in the 2025 Te Tauihu Short Story Competition and the 2026 Cambridge Autumn Festival Short Story Competition.
Life Size Bites is an eclectic collection of short stories and some flash fiction. A number of the stories have won writing competitions. The stories largely explore aspects of the human condition and how individuals react in various situations. The stories include aspects of childhood difficulties and ambitions, criminal behaviour, coping with old age, and even a small amount of Gothic horror. The saying, there’s nowt as queer as folks probably sums up subject of the stories.
