A Place by the Sea - An anthology

Anna Rachael Williams

Adult Friendships, Domestic Abuse, Health, Old Age

A Place by the Sea is a collection of four short stories set at a beach house in the far north of New Zealand.

The setting for this novella is a very special place in Northland where we spend holidays with our group of close friends. I’ve always thought that a cottage on a beautiful beach, and the various people who rent it, would be a perfect setting, and it would have plenty of potential for a book of short stories.

The stories explore the lives, relationships and circumstances of the people who rent the cottage; their friendships, fears, hopes and dreams. Driftwood Cottage is the thread that binds the stories together, and it becomes a central character in its own right, providing shelter, security and comfort to those who stay there.
